The Capacity Line
Strategic Coaching & Professional Development
While strategy maps out the destination, your team is the engine that gets you there. We partner alongside new or growing fundraising professionals, executive directors, and board members to build a confident, sustainable internal fundraising culture.
This line is explicitly focused on equipping and optimizing the team you currently have, protecting your organization's chief assets from burnout and turnover.

Summer Fundraising Camp
Register now for the July 15 cohort
Looking to rapidly level up your team during the summer months? Direct access to our signature, cohort-based immersive training series is currently open.
This limited-time program is designed to rapidly train staff members, align internal development practices, and build momentum before the busy fall season begins.
If your leadership or board is currently asking:
Is our current development team properly structured and staffed to meet our goals without burning out?
How do we provide high-level professional development for our fundraisers so they stay and grow with our organization long-term?
Why is our current fundraising team hitting a revenue ceiling, and how do we unlock their performance?
How do we move our Board members from passive observers to confident, active ambassadors for our mission?
What we build and optimize together:
1:1 Executive & Leadership Coaching: Personalized, objective mentorship for CEOs, Executive Directors, and Development Leaders to build operational confidence and master donor landscapes.
Board Training & Activation Workshops: Practical guidance and structured frameworks to help board members overcome the fear of asking and comfortably step into solicitation roles.
Fundraising Culture & Operational Audits: Identifying internal roadblocks, analyzing team workflows, and streamlining administrative systems to maximize your team's outward-facing donor time.
Collaborative Solicitation Prep: Hands-on strategy sessions to prepare your staff and leadership for high-stakes donor meetings and major gift conversations.
Staff Retention Strategies: Building internal support systems and performance frameworks that keep high-quality fundraisers on your team past the typical 18-month industry average.
Is the Capacity Line right for your nonprofit?

Frequently Asked Questions About The Capacity Line
What is the difference between Coaching and Strategy?
1
While The Strategy Line focuses on the roadmap (the "what"), The Capacity Line focuses on the driver (the "who"). This service is designed to build the internal skills and confidence of your staff and Board. We move beyond building the plan to ensuring your team has the practical training, mindset, and solicitation skills to execute it at a high level.
How long does a Capacity engagement last?
2
Building institutional culture and professional confidence is an ongoing process. Most partners find that a 6 to 12-month commitment is ideal for seeing a measurable shift in Board engagement and staff performance. However, we offer shorter, modular "Add-On" sessions for specific needs like hiring support or a Board retreat.
Does this include meeting with my Board?
3
Yes. In the Strategy & Execution and Fractional tiers, Board activation is a core focus. We often attend Board meetings (remotely, unless local) to provide training, demystify the "ask," and ensure leadership is aligned and active.
Why a monthly retainer instead of an hourly rate?
4
By moving to a flat monthly retainer, we remove communication barriers and extra administrative tasks. You gain the peace of mind of a predictable budget, and NPO Lifeline gains the ability to be fully "all-in" on your mission. It allows us to focus entirely on your growth and impact, rather than on a timesheet.
