The Capacity Line

Fundraising Coaching & Board Development

Strengthen your human engine. The Capacity Line is designed to build the skills, confidence, and culture your team needs to lead sustainable fundraising from the inside out.

We move beyond strategy to focus on the people who execute it. Whether you are coaching a first-time Development Director or activating a Board of Directors to become confident solicitors, we provide the mentorship and training to turn your team into a high-performance fundraising unit.

What This Work Includes

  • 1:1 Executive Coaching: Personalized mentorship for CEOs and Development Leaders.

  • Board Training & Activation: Moving Board members from "passive observers" to "active ambassadors."

  • Fundraising Culture Audits: Identifying internal roadblocks to successful solicitation.

  • Solicitation Role-Play & Prep: Practical training for high-stakes donor meetings.

  • Staff Retention Strategy: Building the systems and environment that keep high-quality fundraisers on your team.

Is The Capacity Line Right for You?

  • Ideal for: New Development Directors, CEOs who want to be more involved in major gifts, or Boards that need a "nudge" to start fundraising.

  • Not for: Teams looking for a "quick fix" or those unwilling to invest time in the professional development of their staff.

All work is conducted remotely with your team.

Frequently Asked Questions About The Capacity Line

What is the difference between Coaching and Strategy?

1

While The Strategy Line focuses on the roadmap (the "what"), The Capacity Line focuses on the driver (the "who"). This service is designed to build the internal skills and confidence of your staff and Board. We move beyond building the plan to ensuring your team has the practical training, mindset, and solicitation skills to execute it at a high level.

How long does a Capacity engagement last?

2

Building institutional culture and professional confidence is an ongoing process. Most partners find that a 6 to 12-month commitment is ideal for seeing a measurable shift in Board engagement and staff performance. However, we offer shorter, modular "Add-On" sessions for specific needs like hiring support or a Board retreat.

Does this include meeting with my Board?

3

Yes. In the Strategy & Execution and Fractional tiers, Board activation is a core focus. We often attend Board meetings (remotely, unless local) to provide training, demystify the "ask," and ensure leadership is aligned and active.

Why a monthly retainer instead of an hourly rate?

4

By moving to a flat monthly retainer, we remove communication barriers and extra administrative tasks. You gain the peace of mind of a predictable budget, and NPO Lifeline gains the ability to be fully "all-in" on your mission. It allows us to focus entirely on your growth and impact, rather than on a timesheet.
